Sanjeev & Catherine’s Indian English Wedding at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells was an absolute joy to be part of! I photographed Sanjeev’s Brother’s wedding three years ago so it was so lovely catching up with this family again and enjoying another incredible wedding celebration! There were beautiful moments during the preparation for the wedding day as Catherine was being prayed for by her Bridesmaids and being helped into her dress by her Mum. There were lively moments as the boys danced down the road to the Church with the dhal drum being played by Sandeep (Sanjeev’s Brother and Best Man). During the ceremony at St Peters Church in Southborough there were passionate expressions of worship and really funny moments like when Sanjeev & Catherine were pronounced Husband and Wife and the cheering and kissing nearly happened too soon! At The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells we went outside for a wander around and then as it started raining Catherine ran at full speed back towards the hotel entrance with her arms in the air loving the day! What a Bride! The speeches were so emotional and many members of the family chipped in. What really struck me from this day was the depth of relationship between the family members. Catherine and her Mum seemed so close and Sanjeev’s family all spoke so highly of one another and expressed such love towards one another. I remember thinking that if my young family grew up with the same love for one another as this family have then I’d be a very happy man! The Indian party in the evening was without doubt my favourite part of the day. Sanjeev and Catherine got changed into their Indian outfits and paraded onto the dance floor with dhal drummers and Bhangra pumping through the speakers! Like three years ago the Groom was again paraded on people’s shoulders and I’ve rarely enjoyed a dance floor like this one! So many people really enjoying dancing together. These Indian wedding celebrations can really teach English wedding celebrations a thing or two! I took Matt Ebbage with me to second shoot and it was an absolute blast working together. Pete from First Light did the videography and I’ll post his video soon! Enjoy some of my favourite images from this incredible day!
Sanjeev said “We have known Olly since my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding 3 years ago, so we knew the amazing quality of photos that we were getting. His website shows a great portfolio but when the photos are of your own wedding, they capture an extra bit of joy with the style perfectly displaying great memories of it all. Before the wedding, Olly was extremely helpful and communicated so well with giving some great bits of advice. On the day, Olly and Matt Ebbage (who Olly brought and we couldn’t recommend this pairing higher for the chemistry and amazing quality of photos) were family; utterly helpful, always making sure everyone is okay and going to great lengths to capture the best moments of the wedding. Even now, we have people speaking about the wedding day and how kind the photographers were because they not only provide an essential service but Olly and Matt added to the day. We have loved going through the photos with tears of joy and treasure these moments dearly. Thank you Olly and Matt for helping us capture our big day in these incredible photos! If a couple wants people to not just take photos but to be family on their wedding day, we could not recommend you both higher. Much Love, Sanjeev and Catherine xx”
