KENT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I’m Olly Knight, a wedding photographer who photographs in my county of Kent, London, the UK and overseas as a destination wedding photographer. I photograph weddings in a natural, unposed and documentary style. I never ask anyone to look at the camera or to “say cheese”, I just photograph the moments that will mean the most to the Bride and Groom. I love my job (although it never feels like a job). I started in 2011 offering to photograph a friend’s wedding and since then I’ve photographed over 250 weddings! I never get bored of weddings as each one has been wonderfully creative with different people to meet and different personalities to document. I feel privileged to have got to know and have become friends with so many lovely couples and have picked up a few awards for my work along the way too including a Fearless Photographer Award in 2021! I’ve shot so many different types of weddings- Castle weddings in Tuscany, intimate beach weddings in Whitstable, Cathedral weddings in Canterbury, weddings in the woods, DIY weddings where the Bride and Groom have made their own venue, rural barn weddings and a garden restaurant wedding in Serbia. I’m passionate about sustainability so I run my business with renewable energy and drive to nearly all my weddings in an electric car. I’ve signed up to the SME Climate Hub. Contact me if you’d like me to be part of your wedding.
The latest easing of government restrictions have seen weddings in England allowed for 6 people or less from March 8th, 15 people or less from April 12th and 30 people or less from May 17th then hopefully leading to full size weddings from June 21st. It’s hard for couples who’ve been planning their wedding and also for all of us in the wedding industry. My thoughts and love go out to all of those people who’ve had to change dates and plans. Since weddings could go ahead in July 2020 I’ve photographed 8 brilliant micro weddings. I’ve come up with a new half day package for these kinds of smaller, shorter weddings. If you’re planning a micro wedding and want a documentary wedding photographer to capture those moments of love, fun and joy then contact me. To see galleries from these weddings click here…
Not only is he a talented artist and captured moments that warmed our hearts, Olly is the kindest, generous and sweetest guy. He actually feels like a best friend. Everyone loved him and he was SO easy to be around and made us feel incredibly comfortable. Michael & Sevda
DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Documentary wedding photography is all about capturing the real moments and honest emotions in a non-obtrusive way. Weddings are fantastic to photograph as they are great celebrations where laughter and tears often feature. When I photograph weddings I’m warm, friendly and relaxed. I wont be shouting at anyone to be anywhere, I’ll just be following what actually happens. The couples that I work for tend to be fun, creative and relaxed couples who want the moments and the atmosphere of their big day captured without having to stand around for hours as if they are at a photo shoot! After weddings the Bride and Groom say that I blended into the wedding and it was like having another friend at the wedding but with a camera.
DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I love travelling and going on an adventure so if you’re getting married abroad have a look at my previous destination weddings. This video shows how I work at overseas weddings. I’m not there as a bossy supplier telling you where to be and what to do, I blend in like a guest with a camera and document all the best moments. I aim to travel in the most sustainable way and only take on 1-2 overseas weddings per year.
He was instantly like part of the family, spent time chatting with our guests, laughing with us, whilst ensuring he captured the most magical shots of our wedding day. The photos have me crying my eyes out every time, they are just absolutely perfect! Ollie & Maxine
