I’m gonna say it… Sam & Jade’s wedding at Chateau du Doux in the South of France was one of my favourite EVER wedding photography experiences! I photographed Sam’s Brother’s wedding 11 years ago and then his Cousin’s wedding 6 years ago and I’d spent a bit of time with Sam & Jade in the build up to the wedding so I felt like I was arriving catching up with friends rather than a couple I had to start from scratch with. I’ll always remember Jade running to embrace us as we arrived at the Chateau (best welcome!) Becci Wiles (who I’ve mentored the last couple of years) came to assist me over the weekend and we were given food and accommodation at the venue. This Chateau was just stunning- the library and the views were my fave parts. Things kicked off on Friday with a welcome meal as the sun set across the Dordogne valley beneath. On Saturday it was the main wedding day. The boys got in the pool (as did I without waterproof housing for my camera- brave or silly? I’m yet to decide…) After pool games it was prep then onto the ceremony (accompanied again by great views). The dancing in the evening was a mix of inside and outside and then a pool party finished things off on the Sunday. I even showed Sam & Jade their preview pics whilst I was at the Chateau (and Becci made an understated reel of the weekend) Sam & Jade are wonderful human beings and I felt like I left this wedding having made 70 new friends. An experience I’ll never forget and to be honest I just want to do it all over again (Sam & Jade- anniversary weekend in France? Please?)
Olly joined us for the weekend of our wedding in France and there are actually no words for how incredible he made it. He caught the most beautiful moments not only of us but the entire weekend (it was really special to see the glint in his eye when he found the perfect spot of light or funny moment to capture as well). We knew how talented he was when we booked him but are just blown away by the photos. Documentary photography at its absolute finest! He’s also the nicest person on the planet. Thanks so much Olly! Xx
