One of my proudest moments as a Father was having Caleb (12) come along to second shoot for me at Castello di Petrata in Italy. Caleb photographed a Bride and Groom wedding hike in the Alps last year with me. When James & Steph saw those images Caleb had taken they asked him if he wanted to come and second shoot with me at their wedding! Caleb was running laps round the kitchen with excitement! Fast forward to the wedding day he got chatting to guests, I got so many compliments about how he’d been able to integrate into the day, he was discreet but got some beautiful moments and he kept on going until the dance floor was almost over. He also did all this in 38c heat. Hats off. Yes I had to Parent him a bit “Caleb, make sure you have a drink”, “Caleb Can you stay in the shade?”, “Caleb, don’t get into gambling even though all the guests are giving you their winning wedding scratch cards” (he totalled £11 in his winnings.) These pictures beneath are photos he took on his Canon RP camera and fixed 28mm lens. He used manual settings all day (no auto modes!) We went through the images, edited them together and have just shared them with James & Steph. That first image he took of the Bride and Groom walking to their meal- I would be displaying that on my website homepage if I’d have taken it- it’s so good! This has got to be the start of something very special for Caleb and he wants to photograph more weddings for sure! (I’ve put in a link to a BTS reel I made of our experience together)
