Lympne Castle Kent Wedding Venue
Lympne Castle is situated near Hythe in Kent and offers a fantastic place to get married. I love the fact that the Medieval Castle lends itself as a brilliant backdrop for photos as does the view out to the sea. Here are some pictures from some of my most recent weddings at Lympne Castle.
As you can see there is plenty of space outside for couple photos and the main dining room has tall ceilings, chandeliers and neutral colours to work with your chosen colour scheme. The ceremony room (below) has a window in front of where the Bride and Groom stand so it lets in enough natural light to not have to use flash.
Not only do these two share the same names as my Wife and I but they are thoroughly nice people too! A big highlight of the day for me was the Spitfire fly-pass. It was a total surprise for all the guests! A couple of really touching moments were when Kirsty opened her letter from Olly in the morning and when Kirsty was making a speech Olly stood up beside her and wrapped his arm around her as she started to well up. Kirsty emailed me to say “From the first time we met Olly a year before our wedding, he was welcoming, friendly, laid back, yet professional! He is easy to talk to and happy to listen to your suggestions and comments. We returned from honeymoon yesterday and our photographs were on the doorstep waiting, what an amazing thing to come home to. Our pictures are simply stunning and Olly has captured our day beautifully with the assistance of Kev and we now have the most amazing memories to look back on forever. We cannot thank Olly enough for his subtle approach to photography as this has enabled him to capture our family and friends natural reactions and emotions of our day.”
Jeff & Emma’s wedding at Lympne Castle was a coming together of friends and family from both sides of the Atlantic. Emily grew up fairly near Lympne Castle and it was a lovely relaxed setting as I photographed the girls getting ready in the morning. Jeff’s family and friends from America loved the history and feel of the Castle and Ben Toms (who assisted me and who provided some great pictures beneath) photographed them arrive at the Castle. They had their ceremony in the large hall and meal in the marquee. It was raining for much of the day but I was so pleased that Jeff and Emma could have a wander about in the evening before the sun set. They were both a pleasure to photograph. I hope you like these best pictures from the day. Jeff emailed me to say “Hi Olly, Hope all is well with you. We received the photos via post the other night. FANTASTIC pictures. We are so pleased with the outcome of the images. It really captured the day. When we went through them all it really made us feel like we were reliving the day. Thanks again for the great work. Jeff and Emma”
This was the first wedding I’ve photographed that had a Chinese Tea Ceremony. What was even better was the “Yum Seng” a traditional Chinese wedding toast! Mark said “Hi Olly, wow, thank you for the photos! They are amazing, we really love them. You captured some of our favourite moments throughout the day and evening, thank you! We really both are so glad that we had you as our photographer, you’ve really done an amazing job.”
John & Charlene got married on a sunny May weekend at Lympne Castle. Great day and really moving speeches! The couple wrote to me afterwards saying “We both found Olly very easy to deal with which took the worry out of a very important aspect of our wedding. We wanted natural looking shots and Olly always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. He got some brilliant action shots and captured some moments we didn’t expect – he got the laughter, the tears but also the moments when we were having the most fun and didn’t even notice Olly firing off the camera and capturing the moment perfectly! We’d highly recommend his calm, assured manner, the beautifully framed shots and thank him sincerely!”
Here are some of my favourite pictures from Leigh & Sam’s wedding from 2013. A really enjoyable wedding day as it was relaxed and at a lovely venue. Sam wrote these kind words for me “For the camera shy like myself you are the only choice for photographer, I hardly knew you were there. All of our pictures are amazing and you captured our day perfectly.”
