Sometimes things happen for a reason. James and Steph’s incredible wedding at Castello di Petrata in Umbria was a joy to document. It’s crazy how I ended up shooting this day though. I originally met James & Steph at a wedding I was photographing in Cardiff a couple of years back. We got chatting about travel, wildlife & Chamonix. I got on really well with them. Fast forward a couple of years they ask me for some Italian venue recommendations for their own wedding, I suggest using La Lista and then they found the most amazing venue- Castello di Petrata (near Assisi in Umbria) and the crazy thing was that I was already in Umbria for a wedding the day before (only 30 mins away). Two weddings back to back in Kent would be novel but in Umbria there’s a definite serendipity (what’s even crazier is that I also worked with the same MUA & hair stylist two days in a row too!) What made this even more special was that they invited my 12 year old Son Caleb to come and second shoot for me (cue all the guests saying “ah we’ve met Caleb already, are you his Dad? He’s amazing” 😂😂) It was such an incredible experience photographing alongside my Son. It’s made him want to photograph more weddings with me. I’ll put some of his images from this wedding on my blog. James and Steph put on the best day with the best views and we enjoyed it all so so much.
Olly – where do we even begin? We couldn’t have asked for anything more from our wedding photographer. You captured our day so well, from the tears to the laughs and everything in between. We’ve had so many compliments on the photos from the day, you really got so many moments (most of which we never saw!) And Caleb – We’re so glad we made the choice to have you along as second shooter! Everyone at the wedding absolutely loved you and the energy you bought all day, and your pictures are brilliant!
