Over the last few years I’ve been working as an international wedding photographer as well as photographing Kent and UK weddings. Why? Well I love travelling to different places, I love experiencing different cultures, eating different food, seeing different architecture and photographing in different settings. Not many international wedding photographers will offer documentary, unposed and unobtrusive coverage of your wedding day like I will. Watch the video below to see what I do at weddings overseas…
Wow! We knew the photos were going to be good after seeing the photos he took at our friends wedding but we have been blown away by how incredible they are. We felt so honoured that he came all the way to Belgrade for our wedding. Spending some time with him before the wedding day we just discovered what great person he was and made us so at ease having photos taken on the day. Olly felt like part of the family and so many of our guests have raved about how cool our photographer was. We really feel like we have found a truly wonderful friend! Djordje & Bethan‘s wedding in Serbia
Why take me with you to your overseas wedding? The first reason is style. A Bride and Groom want a photographer who’s work they really like. I work as a documentary wedding photographer in a very unposed, natural way. In some parts of the world you won’t get photographers with this particular style, it’ll be more posed. The second reason is communication. If your photographer is based in the same country as you then you can meet them before the wedding in person to get a feel for what they are like and you can communicate with them on the day with no language barrier. My rates for destination weddings aren’t usually much more than my UK rates but I do ask for my flights and accommodation to be covered. If you are getting married abroad and are interested in having me to do your wedding photography then please email me with the date and location. Here’s a few recent destination weddings that I’ve photographed in Tuscany, Rome and Belgrade. I’m going to Portugal and Germany to photograph weddings there in 2020.
Matt & Holly’s Wedding in Tuscany
Matt & Holly’s wedding in Tuscany was incredible to photograph. They got ready in a beautiful villa in the Tuscan hills and then got married in a Castle which was a surprise to all the guests! Holly said “Finding Olly was the best discovery we’ve ever made! You are so welcoming and engaging, you immediately put us at ease. The pictures were far beyond what we could imagined and are truly stunning, I don’t think I have enough words to fully explain the feelings we had when we saw our photos and it’s impossible to pick a favourite” See more of their images here.
Marcus & Lillian’s Wedding in Rome
Marcus & Lillian’s wedding at Borgo di Tragliata in Rome was wonderful to document. I really appreciated the inclusion of different cultures and traditions. They had their Chinese tea ceremony in the morning after challenges that Marcus and his Groomsmen had to complete (yes I was mentally scarred from the banana game). Their ceremony was in a secret hilltop garden and Marcus’ Dad spoke emotively about love and the Easter message. I counted lots of teary eyes! The food was amazing (as I’ve come to appreciate with Italian weddings) and you know the dance floor is going well when the Best Man gets the Bonsai Tree involved(!?) Click here to see more images.
Djordje & Bethan’s Wedding in Serbia
It was an honour going to Belgrade, Serbia to photograph Djordje & Bethan’s wedding. We had to get through riot police to get to the ceremony, there was a beautiful sunset over Kalemegdan Fort overlooking Belgrade and a Serbian brass band came in the evening and the party kicked of! Bethan said “Wow! We knew the photos were going to be good after seeing the photos he took at our friends wedding but we have been blown away by how incredible they are. Olly felt like part of the family and so many of our guests have raved about how cool our photographer was. We really feel like we have found a truly wonderful friend.” Click here to see more images.
Jack & Sophie’s Wedding in Tuscany
My first wedding in Tuscany, Italy was a dream to be part of. The ceremony was at the top of a hill at Certaldo Town Hall. It was 36c for most of the day so we were all pretty hot(!!) It was amazing in the evening as everyone was dancing in the rain in the courtyard of the Castle! Sophie said “Olly was an absolutely amazing photographer for our wedding. We didn’t even notice him but the photos he took were amazing and really captured her day. Olly has a clear passion for photography and is great to be around, which made us both feel very relaxed. We literally love the photos so much. We would recommend him to everyone!!!” Click here to see more images.
