I went to photograph a school’s afternoon of events for Sport Relief in Broadstairs, Kent. There was a 12 hour non stop badminton match that 6 students were taking part in. There was also a climbing challenge where staff and students had to climb a wall hundreds of times to match the height of the UK’s tallest mountains. The most fun was had in the staff vs students Dodgeball matches. Some of the reactions were brilliant! Faye from Sports Relief said “Olly covered a fast-paced schools event for us, and really captured the fun and excitement of everyone involved. He truly understood the brief and made sure that Sport Relief was promoted in the best light possible. Great photographer!”
I went to photograph The Kent Young Chef of the Year 2014 at East Kent College in Broadstairs. The competition was run by “Produced in Kent” and featured top chefs as judges including Richard Phillips who often appears on Saturday Kitchen and other TV programmes. Priya won the Senior category with her Venison dish and Jack won the Junior category with his dish of Kentish Rabbit wrapped in Pancetta with Sweet Potato Mash and a Kingswood Cider reduction. His age? 11! I didn’t even know what those ingredients were at his age let alone be able to cook them! The day was very Inspiring. The Kent Young Chef team tweeted me to say “Thanks for the fabulous photos Olly, we think they’re the best yet!”
I went to photograph for COOK who are a luxury frozen food company in Kent. They wanted to put on a Christmas meal and cocktail party that I could photograph for them and then they would use some of the images in their Christmas brochure and on their website. This shoot was really interesting as at weddings the eating part of the day I don’t cover (no one likes a photo of them and a mouthful of chicken!) Instead of getting lots of close up pictures of the food itself COOK wanted me to capture the atmosphere and what went on during the meal and party. I got to try a few of the canapés in the evening- very yummy! I hope these pictures make you feel all festive!
Here are some photographs that I took for Christ Church University students at their graduation in November 2013. Nancie and Is wanted natural photos in and around the Cathedral that were different from the traditional staged photos that are normally offered to students. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos. If you are graduating then please get in contact for a quote. Here’s what Ismatul said “Hey Olly! Thanks for the pictures! Honestly, it was so nice to work with you! You are very very friendly, accommodating and your pictures are awesome! I would really suggest others to use your services”
