Essendon Country Club Wedding Photographer

I had the pleasure of being Nathanael & Lindi’s Wedding Photographer at Essendon Country Club in June. It all started when I got an email from Nathanael who was wanting to propose to his then girlfriend Lindi on a trip away in Canterbury. He asked me to photograph the proposal and I said a huge yes! I was sitting down on a wall pretending to photograph some stone work(!!) waiting for people in the background to wander off. Nathanael knew I’d be there, Lindi didn’t have a clue! Once people had cleared I started to sniff loudly trying to give a cue for Nathanael to pop the question! He had nerves of steel, popped the question, she said yes, there were tears, there were laughs and this was one of the most special moments I’ve ever photographed! Fast forward a few months and they ask me to be their wedding photographer. I was so pleased that I’d get to continue to document their story together. I had them over to mine a month before the wedding and learnt that Lindi had been on “Say Yes to the Dress” on TV and just before they left it came up in conversation that Nathanael and his band got through to the judges houses on X Factor a couple of years ago! Their wedding day was one huge celebration and was packed with dancing, tears and laughter. Nathanael cried as he saw his Bride and Nathanael’s Dad went where many never thought he would go in his address at the Church and then in his speech in the evening. One Groomsmen was so shocked he collapsed on the floor and had to be carried outside by the other Ushers (see below). I hear he’s doing ok now though. The speeches and the dancing were definite highlights for me. The dancing even started before the meal. When Nathanael & Lindi were introduced at the reception the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids danced down the stairs with Nathanael & Lindi following and all danced together on the dance floor. One of the best starts to a reception! The music in the evening was filled with dancehall music and I was loving it! I can honestly say that Nathanael & Lindi have became friends of mine throughout this last year and I want the best for their future together. Here are a few of my favourite images. A couple of the images below were taken by James Richards who assisted me (and possibly loved the evening music even more than I did… and that’s hard!)

Nathanael left me a review saying “If you need a photographer – OLLY KNIGHT IS YOUR MAN!! Our journey started with my engagement proposal (Olly’s FIRST!) and he was super excited which complimented my nerves! As you can see from the shot below it was awesome and she said “yes”. Fast forward 10 months and we requested Olly Knight’s services for our wedding. He had a second photographer with him James Ajebon, and the two of them blended seamlessly into the celebrations. Olly Knight is such a great person to work with – he’s mild mannered, respectful and has the greatest level of professionalism. As you can see from the pictures below he knows how to capture the moment to perfection. Me and my wife look forward to sharing many more memories with Olly and will be seeing much more of him in the future to document our journey.”

All of the moments, none of the fuss
