Josh & Esmie got married at the beautiful woodland venue Crown Lodge and they had one of THE best sunsets I’ve ever seen at a wedding. The weather was mixed during the day and at 5pm it was raining so we’d given up hope of golden hour but then the most beautiful patch of yellow and orange appeared through the grey and we all ran as fast as we could over to the view of Wye valley.
Josh & Esmie are the kind of couple that you could chat to, laugh with and they were both so easy to photograph. They’ve faced real challenges this year, there was lots of emotion during the day and the sunset after the rain we had felt like a metaphor that beauty and joy can still come out of hardship and pain.
This wedding felt like I was surrounded by friends pretty much all day. Josh, Esmie and their families were so welcoming and lovely to us. It was my first time back at Crown Lodge in many years and I loved returning. Here’s some of my favourite images.
I was feeling so nervous and overwhelmed during the morning getting ready, but as soon as I saw you walking down the road that feeling left me and I felt instantly at ease! The anxiety turned into excitement! You have such an amazing ability to make people feel safe and comfortable, this filled the room! I am so grateful to have had you there, that feeling continued throughout the whole day! The pictures are absolutely incredible.
