Court Lodge Barn is a wedding venue in North Kent. James & Sarah had their wedding at Court Lodge Barn in August. I started the day photographing at Brandshatch Spa Hotel where the Bridesmaids were having fun as they got ready and they might have loved the make up artist’s light circle a little bit too much (as you’ll see beneath!!) The ceremony was at St Mary’s Church in Stansted and I was greeted by one of the friendliest and easy-going Vicars I’ve met! Chris simply said “I have no rules, photograph where you want, get the couple some great images!” What a legend! We got to Court Lodge Barn (a two minute walk from the Church) and the heavens opened. The mood wasn’t dampened though (can’t believe I wrote that) and there were some real characters and great expressions to photograph. I ate on a table with some of James’ family and we all shared a luxury BBQ meal- so tasty! My favourite part of the day was when James and Sarah went out in the evening for a stroll. James carried Sarah over a gate. By “carried” I don’t mean simply lifted up, I mean flung over his shoulder!! This was amazing!! After their stroll there was some amazing golden light just near the barn. One of my favourite images was James quickly having a swig from his hip flask as Sarah was looking into the sun as it set. Totally unposed (as all my couple pictures are!) and such a cool photo! Two other shouts out from this wedding- James’ aunty made Sarah’s wedding dress which looked absolutely stunning and Sarah’s Nan who joined in with the fun in the photo booth with all the hens and then loved dancing on the dance floor. It’s fitting that the final picture on this page is Nan getting spun around at great speed on the dance floor and smiling the whole time! James and Sarah- I really loved getting to know you both and I hope you enjoy looking through the images for years to come! Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Sarah left me this awesome review “Olly was the first person we booked for the wedding, as we wanted to ensure that it was him to capture our special day. James is not keen on having his photo taken, so it was the documentary style photography we leaned towards and once we had seen some of his previous shoots, we were sold!! And boy, we were not wrong!! We believe that photos taken naturally bring out the best qualities in people and that was true of Olly’s pictures. We have no idea how he is managed to capture so many priceless photos. We met Olly before the wedding at his home and we were put immediately at ease. His knowledge and attention to detail of the wedding day was extensive and it was clear on his objectives for the day. On the day, Olly worked alongside Jayne, who was fabulous!! They both fit seamlessly into our day and our family and friends actually thought they were guests!! We felt totally at ease when he was around us and we couldn’t imagine having anybody else. Following the wedding, the preview pictures brought absolute excitement! We were actually in Tesco when Olly sent them through and we were beaming like Cheshire cats! The best food shop we will ever do! We absolutely love the photos and the slideshow was a tear jerker! We know that creating an album is going to be very difficult as there are so many incredible ones to choose from. The day went so quickly and we keep saying we would like to do the day all over again and thankfully, with Olly’s photos, we are able to do that. Thank you so much, Sarah and James x”
