Wow! We knew the photos were going to be good after seeing the photos he took at our friends wedding but we have been blown away by how incredible they are. We felt so honoured that he travelled so far for our wedding. Spending some time with him before the wedding day we just discovered what great person he was and made us so at ease having photos taken on the day. Over the last few years I’ve been working as a destination wedding photographer as well as my usual Kent and UK weddings. Why? Well I love travelling to different places, I love experiencing different cultures, eating different food, seeing different archietcure and seeing different light. Here’s a few reasons why British couples getting married overseas will want to take a British photographer with them to their wedding. The first reason is style. A Bride and Groom to be want a photographer who’s work they are really keen on. I work as a documentary wedding photographer in a very unposed, natural way. In some parts of the world you won’t get photographers with this particular style, it’ll be more posed. The second reason is communication. If your photographer is based in the same country as you then you can meet them before the wedding in person to get a feel for what they are like and you can communicate with them on the day with no language barrier. My rates for destination weddings aren’t usually much more than my UK rates but I do ask for my flights and accommodation to be covered. Reuben & Lisa’s Wedding in Rome
What happens when you move across the world with the person you love but have only known for 6 months?! Reuben and Lisa met in Ireland but ended up starting a new life for themselves in Australia very early on in their relationship. A risk? Well fast forward 6 years- they gathered their family and friends from across the world to celebrate their WEDDING at Borgo di Tragliata in Rome! James & Steph’s Wedding in Umbria
I originally met James & Steph at a wedding I was photographing in Cardiff a couple of years back. We got chatting about travel, wildlife & Chamonix. I got on really well with them.
