2017 has been filled with such good memories and I’m delighted to be able to share with you some of my favourite wedding photography moments. I’ve sent couples 20,536 images this year and I’ve whittled the number down to 200 for you! As I often say doing my job as a wedding photographer doesn’t really feel like a job, it feels more like fun! I remember being on a safari truck in July for Ben and Sangita’s wedding just as the sun was setting as thinking that work doesn’t get much better than this! One of my year highlights and probably career highlights was going out to Italy for Jack and Sophie’s wedding. Tuscany is beautiful and very hot (37c all day!) In the evening in the Castle courtyard as everyone was dancing it started to lightly rain on us all and after the heat of the day it was so welcome! I’ve come away from so many weddings feeling like I’ve made new friends that I’ll keep in touch with in the future. One of those couples was Josh & Georgia (such a fantastic couple!) and the picture of them driving away in the little blue MG beneath was challenging to take but so good to look back on! Georgia loved that car ride! Another stand out moment was when Lucas and Kathryn got in a rowing boat on their wedding day in such an idilic setting, I was careful not to capsize the Bride as I got in! I photographed a wedding for a couple not realising that the Groom was a professional Cricketer (I’m more of a football fan!) and I also photographed my first proposal which was pretty nerve wracking to capture (they’ve just booked me for their wedding next year!!) I’m convinced that documentary photography is the best way to capture someone’s wedding as it gives the most honest and fun images without being contrived or posed. It’s been a real honour to have been recognised for my work in 2017 picking up a Wedisson and YPWP award and making it to the final of The Wedding Industry Awards for the South East region. What matters more to me than those things is the relationship that I’ve been able to build with the couples that I’ve worked for and the incredibly kind reviews that they’ve given me. There have been many times this year that I’ve cried happy tears reading what they’ve read (or even hearing what they’ve said on the phone- thanks Mark and Olivia!!) So this is my 2017! Thanks to everyone who’s taken an interest in what I do!

 

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking through my favourite frames from the year! This is my wonderful family- Kirsty, Caleb and Rose. Caleb started school in September which was a big change but he’s adapted so well and he’s teaching me things when he’s back each day from school!
