After photographing a few weddings, I wanted to improve my wedding photography and I’m so glad I booked onto Olly’s Documentary Wedding Photography Course. Olly is such a warm and friendly person and his enthusiasm for authentic documentary wedding photography was contagious. He shared loads of great tips and the practical exercises were helpful too. The course has really challenged me to move away from classic posing and to focus on capturing emotions and storytelling. I’d thoroughly recommend Olly’s courses, he is a great communicator, very encouraging and super knowledgable Louisa Bedford (May 2019 Course)
I can’t recommend this course enough. Whether you are a newcomer to wedding photography or shot many weddings this course will give you a deeper insight into documentary wedding photography. Olly’s knowledge and enthusiasm will ensure you take away so many things that you can instantly apply to your photography venture. This course has made me a better photographer already as well as helped me meet some great people. It really is a fantastic investment. Pete Phelan (May 2019 Course)
One to One Mentoring
In 2019/2020 I’m taking on 2-3 photographers to mentor for a year. I’ve got two photographers with me and I have space for one more.
- We’d meet/ Skype regularly throughout the year
- I would help with your website, brand and business
- There would be ongoing critique of your work
- You would come to a wedding of mine and see how I shoot and handle the day (this is offered on some of my packages)
- I would come to a wedding of yours and work alongside you giving you feedback after the day (this is offered on some of my packages)
If you’re interested in this investment starts at £1,000. Drop me an email email@example.com and we can work out a package to suit you. Here’s a couple of testimonies.
Olly took me on and mentored me when I first started my business. Looking back six years down the line I’m so thankful that I got the opportunity to have him as a Mentor. I learnt so much from Olly about how to shoot beautiful documentary photography and create images that my clients will love. I was able to go to weddings with Olly and see his approach with his couples and how he made them feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera which allowed him to get natural, beautiful images throughout the day. This has helped me so much with my approach to shooting weddings and the relationships I build with my couples. If you’ve got the opportunity to have him as mentor, then just got for it! I would highly recommend it! James Richard
Olly is a very kind and encouraging Mentor and gave me encouragement that kept me going when I was seriously doubting myself. He teaches in a hands on style which makes a lot of sense for me as a practical learner. He’s also approachable so if you’re in doubt about something or need to ask a question you won’t feel stupid asking it. Best of all he’s just a good friend and you can banter with! Jen Holland
Digital Photography Days
Like many people did you get a DSLR or mirrorless camera as a present but now you’re not sure how to use it? Are you wanting to get away from just using the automatic settings on your camera? Not sure of what ISO really does or how to get a stunning depth of field to your photos? Do you want to know about how to get the best lighting for your pictures or how to compose a shot so it doesn’t look like everyone else’s pictures?
For £100 you’ll get a day with Olly as a group looking at the basics of DSLR photography (£200 for a one on one day):
– What the settings mean on your camera
– How to compose a shot
– How to light your subject
– Editing tips
Classes are held in Canterbury on weekdays during the months of January, February, November and December. If you’d like to book or find out more then please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07762810271
It was a fun and energetic day filled with great tuition and I now know how to use my camera! Olly keeps your attention with practicals in between each section. I highly recommend this relaxed, friendly photographer. Laura
I was given this day as a gift from my Husband and Olly has passed on his passion, experience and energy and given me the confidence to go out and take my camera off auto!!! Heather
