Matt & Lydia had their wedding at St Mary’s Church in Woodham Ferrers, Essex. It was such a privilege to photograph this wedding as I’ve known Matt & Lydia for a number of years when they were students in Canterbury. The day started at Lydia’s house and I’ve never known so many Bridesmaids (12!!) During a wedding ceremony there will usually be one or two moments when the couple give each other a cheeky look or lean in and show affection to one another but at this ceremony I didn’t stop taking pictures. Matt & Lydia were seriously happy to be getting married (good sign!) Matt & Lydia met through running together and for their couple pictures we went for a stroll along some corn fields that Matt and Lydia go running in now, it seemed really fitting to be there (not quite managing to run in their wedding attire though…) Lydia and friends had done a brilliant job with the DIY marquee reception on her Nan’s land and had made it look amazing with decorations, games for guests to get involved with and sourcing the hog roast! After the meal nearly all of the top table gave a speech and there were a couple of really special moments as Lydia’s Father sung a song he’d written for her and as Matt’s Brother said how much he admired Matt through tears. I had high expectations coming into this wedding day and I’ve ended up so happy that my friends got married and over the moon with the images we could give to them.
